Booked my tickets today to Rotorua... Where are the best places to ride? We are only taking a downhill bike so preferably tracks with a bit of gradient. Got most of Friday and all of Saturday and Sunday. Definitely planning a day on the Southstar shuttle. I have a Whaka Forrest track map.
I went up a couple of months ago and the only place i rode for the two days i was up there was the whaka forest, it becomes addictive doing some of those trails, eg double down
i dont really know of any other places in vegas to ride, but the forest is definitely an amazing place which will take up at least a few days of good riding

Where else should we ride?
A great loop is Shuttle to the Top, then up to Billy T, Along to Split Endz, then onto Pondy DH, Pondy New, Rollercoaster then back to the Shuttle pickup or keep going past and onto Be Rude Not to.
Other tracks you may consider are Double Down, K2 (though this track is pretty overgrown and there is a slip) and Exit Trail (awesome track but at the other end of the park).
You definately want to do from the Shuttle drop off the DH track and the Jump track

If you are shuttling and not really into climbing, try this Billy T, turn right at the end of Billy T then down the road about 100metres, into G-rock (which rocks IMHO) which leads into roller coaster, then back to the shuttle

Also forgot to mention the tracks off the Corridor - Eastern Spice and that other one (I cant remember what it is called), they are very DH orientated.
K2 is Steep all the way down pretty much and then if you want to ride down the slip (like a few did) - that is ultra steep

Billy T, Split Endz and Pondy Dh are awesome. Pondys new is a bit of a slog on a DH bike though, especially if you're wearing armour. I can spend a whole day there and ride nothing but the Nats DH and jump track.
I may be there this Sunday (Friday if I'm lucky) if I can get a bike sorted by then. Probably the hardtail so the DH track will be a challenge.
Hey guys, I'm looking for a track that was on drop in NZ while they were in rotorua. I think it was called funn? track? it had structures like a skinny boardwalk with a seesaw off the end of it jumps etc. (it wasn't double down). I haven't seen that track but it's there because they done gunna gotta? after it. any ideas would be a great help as it looked like a good track.

That sounds like double down to me, though the skinny to seesaw in no longer there.
The funn trail is now called The Grinder and starts to the right of the double down entrance.

The grinder has a skinny-logride type thing and North face/Eastern Spice has a few wooden jumps and drops. Plus there is the jump track up by the DH track which I havn't riden but it looks very cool.
