Well, you asked for it readers, and here it is!

I propose the climb should be timed from the 'Pick Your Own Grapefruit' sign, and finish as you pass the main Summerhill Carpark entry point.

I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

If I ask nice enough, I might be able to borrow one from work.
I'm not ready to commit myself to being a roadie just yet
(I need a bigger garage to store my bikes in first) Tongue it

Well we have to start somewhere.

Tonight I timed it at 11.20

I know I have a bit up my sleeve, pretty sure sub 11 is do-able on current form, sub 10 would be out in the stratosphere for me.

Who is next?

That's awesome dented!
This morning's effort for me 14:20.
I'm going to make it my goal to get consistently sub 13 by the time K2 rolls around in October. I think at my current level of training/fitness I can amp it up quite a bit more so that should be easily achievable.

Wow, you're training for K2! That ride just scares me. I dont have the discipline to pace myself for that long, I would blow up before getting to halfway.
I find the more times I ride up Reid Road, the shorter/easier it seems. Funny timing it though, I've never done that before. Normally I would just ride it in the middle of, say, a 2 hour training ride. But with the stopwatch on, it kind of makes you forget about any riding you are planning on doing afterwards Big Grin

Oh thanks for that Roma. I might just email Mark and ask where they time the climb from. I know Gavin well, so that is a nice little carrot to chase Smile

Would be cool if they had some womens times too, would be a bit more a realistic and relevant carrot for me!
I did Reid road yesterday to finish off a long and hot 150km training ride, it was an 18 minute slog haha!
