fer christs sake. I know that it's a DH track and all that, but there are masses of kiddies who head down there. jumps with massive holes that you can only clear if you're going hell speed probably aren't a good idea - if you've taken the lip back 7 foot you should really be backfilling the tabletop just as far so that people don't munt themselves.

Has this been cleared with craig the ranger?

Ignorant lil grommy kcufers. Lets not only make a jump that many people already kcuf up, bigger, but also make it slightly harder to get onto the nanna line as well.

Track buliding tip NUMBER ONE. IF IT'S NOT YOUR TRACK, AND /OR YOU DON'T HAVE PERMISSION, DON'T kcuf WITH THE MAIN LINE.

hold up hold up calm down SlackBoy no need to be swearing. 1st i am just a bit sick of over jumping that jump to flat. 2nd as i said there is only three of us keeping the track going. 3rd i will find something to fill the gap in a bit. 4th i will make the nana line wider. i have spoken to craig about building but i dont go and ask him for permision on every change i do eg. not about this changebecause i didnt think it was that big of a deal.

Good on you for doing the work, thats not the issue at all. Props to ya for that, but a massive change to the main line on a jump at which every race claims quite a few victims, and you go and make it bigger. A extra bit of thought might have gone a long way. If your over jumping, perhaps you need to look at your jump soaking up skills. Git your bubba scrub on!.
Don't go and make the track something that only a few can ride.

I agree with the above comments. I am a riderthat can clear everything on that track, and enjoy doing so. However I agree that this jump did not need to be made bigger. It was nice because it would slingshot you into the next corner with lots of speed. Now I think I will have to brake into the berm to wash off enough speed. This in turn will cause more track wear.

You young guys need to remember that this is not a freeride track. Downhill is not about always going mega huge over jumps. More skill is involved in holding a good line and speed over all obstacles on a track. Being able to keep low over a jump yet still clear it.

Good on you for putting in alot of work on the track. After a good effort on the dig day by all, it is good to see people still keen.

In future I suggest that a post up on here for instance, asking people what they think of jump in question, and wether it should be made bigger. Alot of effort goes into track design.

At least next time I am up there, if I munt myself on this jump, I know who to hunt down and stomp on.

Good effort Matt!!
Big ups for getting out there and doing it. Double Thumbs Up

Allot of people are going to voice different opinions some good and some bad.
Dont be put off , allot of it generally good advice and is all part of the track building learning expierance.
Building jumps and getiing it right first time is allot harder than it looks ,trust me ive still got one that i put in a year ago that im still not happy with.

One thing ive learnt is if you make safe lines for everyone from the start then less people are likely to kick up a fuss

Its probably in everyones best interest if the hole was back filled allot more too.
If someone has a nasty crash and kicks up a stink to the council allot of questions could be raised about what goes on up there.

Maybe concider the option of digging the landing ramp back further to give a little more run off to the next burm.

And thanks for having the foresight to inform everyone on the changes you have made.

thanks for showing understanding mike. i have just been up there today with friends and made a bigger case ramp. smothend out the run so no roots so can go faster and wont loose balance going in to it so it is alot safer.
