2007 NORTH ISLAND DOWNHILL SERIES
Race 3: LONG GULLY - 3/4th November 2007

Our Club will be running the 3RD round of the north island series in conjunction with ON YOUR BIKE.

The track to be used will be a combination of te Race Track ,Jawbone and the Goat road 4wd track down to the jump park.

Posters and entry forms will be out next week at local bike shops and will be available on the club website.

At the Moment Mike is single handly organising this race and needs a few people to help with some of these aspects of the organisation prior.

Organisation help prior

finishing the track
The track is still pretty rough and the final 200m still needs to be finalised.
The whole track is going to need a once over before its readyto go so people need to come to the dig days and help.
I'll (mike) be up there one day every weekend until the race getting it ready so come and give me hand to make it as kick ass as it can be.

Course Marking
This will involve marking of the track on the friday night prior for a couple of hours.
It will also be this persons responsibility to collect all track marking equipment when the racing has been completed. Also could involve checking marking after practise.

Signage
We may need a few signs made up for hazards on the course, parking and directions.

During the event help required

Radio Pick up and drop off
We will be hiring Radio's from Capitial Communications in Ngauranga gorge which will need to be picked up on a friday and dropped off on a monday.

Parking Marshalls
Because we have a limited parking area due to the drift park going in we will need someone to arrange the cars as they arrive to get the most out of the space available.
Duties may also involve limiting cars access down the road to the finish area.

Rental pick up
We would require someone to pick up and drop off any hired van or truck that would be needed for shuttling. If they could drive during the shuttling period then that would be great.

Drivers
We normally have enough trucks and vans but like to give the drivers a rest and let someone else have a go for a while.

Track Marshalls
We need some people monitoring the more challenging sectons of track with a radio to stop or warn riders of any accidients ahead or to contact first aid.

Anyone interested in making my life easier over the next 4 weeks by helping me run this event should emil me at:

Mikeandlouise[at]paradise.net.nz

thanks.
