I've just checked the MetLink train timetable and they haven't listed the price for bikes anywhere on it. Try www.metlink.org.nz
It's been aaages since I took my bike on the rail because I found it was cheaper for me to take my car over the Rimutakas (or just bike to the Hutt from Masterton), but I found the best way is for you to let the guard help you load your bike into the (non-cycle friendly) goods wagon at the end of the train and then buy your ticket on the way from the guard. They usually wouldn't charge me for my bike if I didn't mention it even though I was sitting there in my cycle gear. If you get your ticket from the station office you will have to pay. Pretty sure that if you act like a regular user they just let you off the few bucks for your bike. Wink
