hi there , doing some research

im from the uk , scotland to be precise and apparently im coming over to do the moonshine race in february , just wondering

A. what the moonshine course/terrain is like and

B. what the riding in the gore area is like ?
people keep telling me its like scotland only warmer ! any trails you can recomend bearing in mind i love technical rocky trails , hard climbs and fast technical dh

ive tryed to use google etc but i cant find much on the moonshine course as the course is apparently closed for the rest of the year ?

Well I didn't do the race this year but plan to next year. I've got a mate who did it and he said it was a bit like the trails you like.

Oh and not sure about the warm part it can get pretty cold in Southland!

late reply , but good event trails were very very fast. take lots of water was into the 30s on course this year. final climb is not to be sneared at

a light bike with some fast rolling but grippy tires like perhaps small block 8s from kenda would be ideal maybe in a 2.2 sorta size as some rough stuff

the borrowed giant trance i was on was a bit overkill for most of the trails but good on the descents where you could just let it loose
