If you want to keep an eye on Vorb but don't want to constantly trawl through the site or keep an eye locked on Mini Vorb you can now use Vorb RSS Feeds.
RSS Feeds are automatically updated lists of the latest news/ posts etc. on Vorb. They can be delivered to your desktop in a number of ways:
1.) RSS through your Browser
Browsers like Opera and Firefox can automatically use RSS. Both of these will display a small icon on the far right of the address bar when a webpage has a RSS Feed. All you need to do is click the icon.
2.) RSS Through your a RSS Feeder
There's lots of cute wee programmes that act as RSS Feeders. CNet has written a very helpful article on these, with reviews of their favourite feeders: http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10088_7-5143460.html
3.) RSS through your Operating System
Some operating systems can automatically use RSS (Windows doesn't, OSX generally does.) These are all configured in different ways, but I'm guessing if you have one of those OSs then you'll know how to do it.

Hmm - got it going now I am at home, will ahve to check proxy settings, though I didnt have issues with other feeds.
will see what it is like, but the cool thing with it is, my RSS reader looks like an email client so I can get updates without having vorb or mini-vorb open.
Minivorb is most likely a script that runs off the Vorb database server which queries the database for the latest posts subject to certain conditions such as access, age of post, and the forums you wish to see. Then displays those as a list of links in a wee browser window for you to see...
So they provide a similar function in some ways, RSS is somewhat independent of this website though, while minivorb is not.
