Don't think that there is alot around Te Anau.

Some of the local riders have built a wee loop in Ivan Wilson Park. Head out of Te Anau towards Manapouri, and turn left on to a gravel drive just after the Camp Ground. Hop over the fence/gate (signposted), and it is about a 10 minute loop, which will keep you busy for half an hour or so.

May be able to ride around the lake front to the start of the Kepler?? And may be a ride along the Waiau River?? Best to check with the local DOC office on the lakefront.

One of the last times I was up there, just drove towards Milford, parked and did a bit of a road ride and had a look at the scenery. Just watch out for those buses!!

Isn't there now a wee jump park in that piece of bush as you come into Te Anau? I had a look but they still needed a bit of work. This was quite a while ago so i don't know what they are like now.
