I'm going to be spending a fair bit of time in Dunedin over christmas and I'm brining my coiler deelux to keep me amused.

Where are the best places to ride
I've heard about Signal hill, but what sort of riding is it ?
I've heard that Jubilee park is pretty easy
whats at Forrester Park ?

Ta

signal hill is rocky, clay type stuff that is awful in the wet but fun at the same time.

forrester park is at the bottom of mount cargill which is no bikers allowed but the bottom of it is home to the dunedin bmx track and nationals XC course.

jubilee park has some pretty fun circuit trails and a few jumps and chutes but isn't an entirley big area

There's a new course at the top of Forrester Park (behind the pines above the BMX course) which is quite a fun wee loop (a whole lot of switchbacks with a couple of "jumps").

Next to Forrester Park is Bethunes Gully which is where most of the Nationals XC track goes. Nice tracks (just rode them a couple of hours ago actually!). A few little drops here and there, with some tight corners.

Thanks for the help guys
I should be able to keep myself amused on the tracks
I'll have to drag my brother out with me and give him abit more of a challenging ride than hes used to.
All I've got to hope for now is good weather over the Holidays Smile

Sounds good, pm me closer to the time, I'll be in Dunedin from the 18th Dec to New Year then I'm off down to Invercargil to visit my parents.
I havent got anything planned while I'm in Dunedin (apart from panic last minute Xmas shopping) so anytime for a ride.

It wll be nice to ride a track that doesnt consist of a sand pit ( I ride mainly at Woodhill, Auckland)

Well, I've had a ride around the forester park loop - thats a great wee trak I could just keep going round and around it. Smile nice wee switch backs and a wee jump

Didnt like Jubilee park Sad It seemed more like a walking track that's been converted to a bike track- a few right angle corners and no flo

Also went down to Sandy point reserve in Invercargil. - not bad, but some of the tracks look like they dont get much use.
I didnt think the advanced track was very advance but this is probably due to the lack of terrain. was a nice wee ride tho- just not very challenging

Going to get a day over at naseby before I go back up north- looking forward to it (naseby - that is)

Yeh Jubilee park isn't that flash but it has couple of fun chutes and few wee jumps to keep you entertained. Have you checked out Signal Hill yet. Oh, and by the way you'll love Naseby Smile

Damn i forgot all about it.
It was tihs weather down here though lately, a few good days though. Jubilee's ok for a quick 5 min ride.

I went to Forresters and Bethunes yesterday. Bethunes was horrible (rained hardout the night before) so was extremely slippery and unrideable.

Forresters is just soo fun though, i can just keep riding round it Smile
