The weather is going to be utterly parc - so I've booked Air-Time for this coming Tuesday (6th May - 6:30pm onwards) and the Tuesday after that (13th May) - see Upcoming Events for more info
are the public riding there aswell or is it booked out
Anyone can ride I think - I mean we're not going to stop people...
...but Vorb gets a cheaper group rate
Its a private booking to vorb. Airtime is not open on mondays/tuesdays to the general public (excepting public holidays etc).
Tama, being the kindly sharing caring pc snag he is will welcome anyone on two wheels with a friendly attitude to join in.
<risk of flaming starting on>
I would very much discourage complete strangers from showing up on roller blades or skateboards.
reasoning:
a)bikes, blades and boards use the park differently, with different lines at different speeds, hence greater chance of collision and user conflict.
b)this booking has been made by Tama for the purposes of mates on bikes going out to ride somewhere where a lot of them wouldn't normaly go. If we wanted to mix with the usual punters/bikes/blades/boards we could have gone out on a public night.
c) a number of the riders will be ramp riding newbies, managing the number of people in the park increases their riding time and lesons chances of collisions/conflict
<risk of flaming starting off>
I normaly am very much against 'your a skater you suck' or the reverse 'skate parks are for skateboards so don't ride your bike here' bulltihs. so feel free to flame away if you think I'm being overly gruff.
come out with a bike and a friendly attitude and you'll fit right in.

Unfortunately after a bit of a warm up on the vert ramp (followed by mucho bike tweaking) I thought "right time to do some jumps" - followed by a small amount of air - followed by sliding painfully across the concrete on my knees.
Damn damn damn - not to crash hot on the old confidence, so it was back to the vert-ramp for non-hurtful riding.
Confidence is a delicate thing, and knee pads definitely help it! i was even thinking about taking all my DH protective gear before i drove out.. but that would have looked silly.

The jap dude with tthe biggfest smile in the whole wide world doing supermans was Yoji(speeling, but thats how it sounds), pretty darn good trials rider, skill for Japan (I wsas gonna say africa, but I was trying to be multicultural, cool dude tho)
Oh by the way Drunken Master post is coming up, woooooooooooooohooooooooooooo!!!!! !!! => !!!
I: was stoked to clear the box jump, But I was gutted to only lay it really flat only once (typical only like 1 or 2 peeps saw it as well. Most times I hit it, it was like, ooooooh fark I have heaps of speed, oh tihs, forgot to do anything again, buggar. I would've been sorted on Full x-ups, but using triple clamps had sorta pooh poohed that idea. But on the lus side I was way more confident on the Trusty Crusty DMR, with the one, the only, Slackster High Fives, back on the scene and on the bike.
