I'm going to be up in the 'nua (you know Horowhenua) over Easter.

Tell me about the tracks there - I know about Waitarere Beach. Are there some tracks east of Levin off Denton Rd.

I know I know - look at the Kennetts book - but would like to hear first hand about some of the tracks and what they are like.

Help me - please

Waiterere forest has had a fair bit of logging recently (I went up a couple of months ago and half of it was gone).

The tracks to the east of Levin are OK but basically downhill single tracks and you get to ride up the gravel road a few times. Pretty well marked, but some dangerous jumps and drops made by the local kids last time I was there.

There are some unmarked gems on the backside of the hill if you want to go exploring, or chat up a local. Hard to describe though.

Nothing to get too excited about. You might head up to Wanganui to the forest there, but I haven't been up presonally. Some riding around Palmy too.

I reckon a call to Southend Cycles would be a good call - 155 Oxford St Levin - 0-6-368 5459

Considering the caliber of the talent that comes out of Levin (Nathan Rankin for example) there must be kick esra tracks up that way.
