I'm glad people are clever enough to see through them like this - I can't believe how useless the polls have been this time around. In the last two elections the polls haven't jumped around like they are now, and generally reflected how things turned out on election day.
I'm pretty sure that this time around they're gnikcuf with their results or conducting the polls in such a way to generate 'shock' results which make good news stories. Every night either TVNZ or TV3 turns the previous poll conducted by the other on it's head - Two weeks ago, National was storming into the lead, then Labour was 7% ahead, now over the weekend one poll says they're 2% apart and another puts National back well in the lead. I think it's bulltihs and I'm becomming more and more convinced that they're conducting polls in order to generate news. I don't like it

I love it when they state... 'National are 1.3% ahead' one day, then 'Labour are 3% ahead' two days later. And the small print for both states a margin of error of + or - 4%.
90% of all statistics are kcollobs

I note we have the prospect of a hung parliament
That woudl be a first, but I do not wish to see the calendar!
I had thought they were all eunuchs, which is why they got into politics in the first place.

I don't think it's likely, considering especially how National har marginalised all of it's potential coalition partners they + United Future would need an outright majority, and depending on who you believe the most they've got is 45% support.
I'm guessing the Governor general would, in those circumstances, allow Labour to form a minority Government rather than National as they would be more likely to be able to govern.

Of course, NZ has a minority govt. at the moment - Labour+Progressives is a minority, and relies on support from Greens/NZ First/United Future.
Hung parliament/minority government are the same thing...
