Hmmm...that doesn't look very much like the hardtail that I've gotten used to him riding Nice drop - I've often looked at that one and wondered about the line in... |

how do you get the run-up for the drop at mt vic onto the soccerfield (if that was where it is...? ) me and crnkin had no idea how you could take the drop cleanly, i tried it and went right off line and rode through all the bushes on the side |

Both of the drops were up there. One of them (the first) looks pretty straight-forward (although, to be honest, I've never had the balls on the day to actually do it. Maybe next time I'm up there when it isn't blowing a gale...). The other (the second vid) is a little more tricky. I've seen spooky john do it, and he looked pretty smooth... |

yea the run-in was at 90 degrees to the takeoff, and you couldnt see anything from the run up, i got the angle slightly wrong resulting in a landing in the perfect place but a course set for the bushes.... never seen the first one before, but ive only been up mt vic once... |

The first one is on the other side of the field. |

CWB is the one your talking about and yes you have to turn 90 degrees and IFR was complaining about having to slow down to take it.
however there is a different line you could take but you need to clean a bit of landing up.. I might look into it sometime, wouldnt take to long |

Nice droppage, smoooooth. In the video at least the forks don't actually look that big on the hardtail. Quite possibly cos the frame is beefier than perhaps, my DH bike...
We are gonna make a drop like that one in Hamilton...however the run up is across the road so we have to do it early in the morning when there are no cars, and we also have to find some plywood to get over the little ledge above the drop. It should be about the same size as the CWB maybe a little bigger. Will have to go slow though lest we flatland a long way down onto the grass...the landing is quite short and steep... Pics to come when we steal a digicam from somewhere. |

When I was there I thought the run up was dodgier on the bigger drop than the CWB drop and It looks like you have turn a bit in the air.
But I didnt hit either of them (It was to windy and I didnt have my shinpads..Yes I know excuses excuses.. )
But those drops where you cant see the landings till your in the air are pretty freaking, theres one at whitford that goes in to a gully where all you can see is the flat 15ish foot down and the otherside of the gully, but anyway its a really fun drop for progression cause you can go from about 5 foot till about a 12 foot drop off it. |
