Hey
Just moved here from the tron via tauranga for summer. Not studying this year, just loving being unemployed at the minute. Checked out signal hill DH track the other day........soo gnarley it's crazy.
Anyway to the point, is there a dunedin urban ride on the regular? There is soo many crazy tech trails through the town belt and around the burbs it's awesome, there must be a crew that frequents this?

The University MTB club do the odd urban ride.
Try http://oumbc.basement.net.nz
Also, if you click on Groups + Lists in red near the top of the page here on Vorb, you can join the Dunners Riders group and send out messages to Dunedin Vorbii.

The town belt is an area set out as non development by the council to preserve a 'ring'/ 'belt' of green area to the city. so it doesn't become completely urban.
That answers your first question.
