 |
|
i've just been trying to get some stuff from supergo.com. all was going well untill they cancelled the order saying that my bank cannot/willnot verify the address. They say that this is their policy for international orders. They are saying that I need to send them an international money order!!? but stuff that, it's 2005 not 1975. we should be able to do this online
My question is has anyone else ordered stuff from supergo.com all online and with a credit card. or has anyone had any success with the likes of pricepoint.com or JensonUSA, or do they all have this silly policy.
Can I please mention that it would be good not to turn this into a discussion regards supporting the LBS, Blah blah blah etc... i mean I know we should etc, but money is money.
regards

What sort of credit card are you using?
Tell your bank the problem, maybe they can fix?

ahh, welcome to the wonderful world of e-commerce.
This is becoming an increasing problem with us sites - they want to data match your supplied billing address against the card holders bank details (to prevent fraud), but a lot of non-US credit card companies _won't_ do that (concerns with privacy and of course
potential for identity theft etc). Hence it fails and the US vendor declines the order.
I went thru this with Yahoo.com (who I used to rent webspace off), talked to the VISA this end, tried to work thru it but it's just about impossible - NZ card companies _really_
want people to use the 3 check digits on the back of the card (which is what they're
there for - most european sites use that method also).
Anyway, ring up the helpline for your credit card and talk to the people there, depending
on exactly how the site is doing it's checking it might or might not be surmountable
we really need a worldwide standard for credit card verification.....

Jenson USA and Greenfish Sports are good to buy off With Jenson, the first I had to scan a copy of my drivers license and my VISA card for them, but only the first time. Greenfish don't even ask for that sorta stuff. I think they want that three digit identification number on the back of the card though.

I had the same thing happen with Supergo, and found my bank to be not at all helpful on such matters. I gave up in then end though mostly because the stuff I was going to get was back to full price.

Supergo did the same to me late last year, confirmed an order, sent out emails that it was shipped (!!) then 3 days later informed me the credit card address could not be matched and the goods were NOT on their way to me. A couple of emails back and forth later, I told em where to stick their order process and spent my money elsewhere.

A friend went through the whole hassle with Supergo recently, and then had to wait 2 months for the goods!
Jenson was sweet as.
