My DH bike was a bit of a pig down deliverance, especially on the undulating bit at the bottom. I'd like to try it again on something with less travel. I'd also like to try it again when it's not pouring with rain.

my first ride on Deliverance was wet and with freshly installed Maguras with the levers reversed because thats how they came set up and I thought I would give it a try and see if I would get used to it - bad idea.
It is a great track, my favorite in the Makara area and there is that one rooty step on aright hand corner where you have just ridden through a little trickle of water which wets your tyres that every so often dumps you hard just to wake you up.

- Jono and myself were main force behind originally building Deliverance. Although credit for it's conception has to go to Mudzy, who pioneered the idea. Don took over when we decided that we could ride it (just) so it was finished - and is responsible for what most people know as Deliverance.
For those of you who remember it when it first appeared (6-7 years ago?) It had taken us 18 months to get it to that stage - epic building mission. The track is around 1.8 km long and drops 180vm, most of those in the first half.
My proudest moment was the name "Deliverance" appearing on a map. Which is pretty good considering I came up with the name from the movie "Deliverance" because the track made you "squeal like a pig" - eeeeeeeeee!

Curses to Tama and Jono. I hate deliverance. It bites me every time we meet.
I have no idea why I keep riding it.
Deliverance's first victim happened about 2 weeks after we declared it open (ie. we couldn't be stuffed building any more and reckoned you could ride it.) James broke his arm at the bottom of the chute - he'd helped us build it so we didn't feel too guilty.

good for a good-intermediate and upwards, I reckon. not a beginners. smoothed out a lot over recent times. no longer so clenchy but there are still plenty of bits that can throw you off into destruction.
