they have a free ride track there as well.
It's got some gnarly stuff in it, but is easy enuff for everyone. Options abound for good guys/gals, heaps of fun, even in the wet wet wet like tama and myself did it in.
If you like rock climbing as well, you will be in heaven, take your gear (tho u can hire stuff) cos you'll be itching to climb once you see the rock.
Castle rock is also a really cool place to stay for a night or 2 even if ya just sifting and not doing knaff all. Primo digs and the hugest shower you ever did see.
I must also say that I have seen the impossible there. I actually saw tama with both wheels off the ground at the same time, and he was still on the bike. Nah it's true, I'm telling ya, honest to mercutroyed!!!!!
must have been those flats and the funky shin pads he was given

Don't know how big exactly, but pretty frigging large
But the good thing is they are all table topped, so you can learn at your own pace and if you want to go huge you can
scariest bit is right off the start line, just ask tama, he didn't get up it first time (somewhat of a problem the rumour says *weg*)

ah yeah, my shin has a nice one from that particular bit. Pain in the esra in the race because whoever gets both wheels down off it first usually has the first corner and is gone. (just my experience anyway)

there is also the first jump like a quarter pipe thing and its like 10-12 foot high with a downhill tranny
if you know who paul needham is he kan JUST land supermans

We were at Castlerock yesterday. Very very wet and slippery. The wind didn't help much and even the Wookie had to keep low to avoid blow over.
"The Bowl" which is the first bit of the course was a bundle of laughs. Anna, Hutch, Wookie and I had multiple attempts to get through. Anna got spectacularly spat out, but generally I just flailed.
The Free-Ride track is slippery and I can see it getting totally chewed, good times were had by all.
I think a good advert for Castlerock is the guest book, the 'Naki Boys, a bunch of the Aucks (incl. Mike Metz) and our Vorb contigent had all been through within two days/ pages of each other.
Still needs some work for punter friendly trails, I forsee the need for a totally easy punter track that tools the around pretty rocks etc. for those neophytes out there - at the moment the "XC" freeride track is nailing fairly experienced riders, and even some of the Nana lines are dodgy as.
