Calendar Event: January 29, 2005 Righto
as mentioned here http://www.vorb.org.nz/ftopicp-289321.html#289321
I am coming up to Welly special to pre-ride the course before I ride I said ride not race it in March.
I may or may not need transport out to the Hutt [depends] - but it would be good to have a few experienced hands. I would be staying in Kelburn.
Someone else can sort out times and transport closer to the date !!!
The tickets are brought so barring death I will be coming up - can't refund the buggers now
I shall now start preparing sacrifices to weather gods to ensure a good day

If I started riding on the 28th, then you guys could catch me up for the last 10kms of the ride and we could finish at the same time

Karapoti is not that bad, however, my ability to ride a bike at pace over 50kms of hilly terrain is pretty bad

Pace schmace - and if you drive up to the carpark at the bottom of the gorge it's only like 47km...

I usually try to get around the course in the run up to the event.
29th of January is only the second week-end after my three week Beaches, Barbaques and Beer tour of summer holiday locations, and would normally be a couple of weeks early for me.
But if the weather doesn't suck I would be up for a ride / push around Karapoti.

i'll do that for you
i'll prob be there too - i've decided to race/ride it again this year, so better pre-ride it a few times.
rode it a few weeks ago, i'd forgotten just how painful it is, time softens the bad memories...

I'll be up for it to. I'm currently fluctuating between "I wonder if I should be serious-ish about it this year" and "I should take the Bullit and try to pass people down the rock garden".
Fortunately the memory of me pushing/lugging the bullit back up steep slippery slopes to "ride that rooty section again" isn't fresh enough in my brain...
