I'm going to be there on 21 22 Dec. I've been looking for a map like that for a while. Do you have a larger version? or a link to a URL showing all sorts of hanmer rides?

regards

Righto - my map is after slaving away with a GPS

here is an 'official' one

http://www.doc.govt.nz/Explore/002~Tracks-and-Walks/By-Region/010~Cantblahblahblah

You will notice straight away there are more tracks in Hanmer than on the DOC map - you just have to hunt for them - follow the tire tracks, hook up with a local, etc.

Have fun

Hi guys,

We are planning to be at Hamner that weekend. We will probably be camping. Anyone has a good quiet campground to recommend?

I hope that we can meet up. We are driving a greenish Nissan Vannette.

MTBrat will give you the address he is staying at and you'll be able to hook up with them, There is 3 camping grounds in Hamner the first one on the right is where I normally stay and it's pretty good.

Hope you guys enjoyed the CHCH riding and have a good trip round NZ, and I hope the Mafia xmas party didn't put you off too much Blush

Mtbrat........see if you can break Deyv on the hills, The man climbs like a goat Double Thumbs Up

Cheers

Hi Deyv

yeah what Slim says Double Thumbs Up

You are welcome to crash with us Friday and / or Saturday nights - we should have plenty of room and if not we are all pretty friendly Wink

I have always used the AA motor camp when I have had to camp it up there - although I believe that they are all good.

PM me for our address

Happy to show you the trails - although I probably can't break him just yet SLIM Crazy

An awesome weekend with a little bit of everything: snow, hail, rain, hot pools, more rain, mud, mud, mud, rocks, roots,* good company, SCUM, alcohol, more rain, singletrack, a few ups and lot's of downhills that give you tihs eating GRINS . . .

and all in December !!!

Good on the canadians (Isabel and Deyv) having 3 three summers abroad and hitting snow in Hanmer Double Thumbs Up

Also Paddy was very brave in his shorts ....

Thank god for a house with a good fire

Photos to come !!!
