The moderators are watching, and any inappropriate postings will result in a slapping.
It is intended that this will be the new "SUB COMMITTEE”.
From now on the Exec would like some of the issues normally brought to meetings discussed in this forum first to get the widest range of solutions and participation.
By doing this it will free up committee time to concentrate on the club as a whole.
It is also hoped that more people will have a chance to have their say and make helpful suggestions.

i'm confused - i thought THIS forum was for all the members of the club, for general chit chat and a place for feedback from the members etc. And the EXEC forum was just for those on the committe, and was to be used for sub comitties and meeting announcments etc. It seems like we have two forums doing the same thing now...

I was asked to create a forum that only club members could get to (presumably so we don't get infected with parc from the Mafia ) - so I have.

No, just club members only.
All exec stuff should be posted in the Exec fourm, and all club activity - races, shuttle days, appeals for help, newsletters, dig dags etc should be posted in here.
Mike - are you adding all new club members to this forum if they are a member of Vorb? Do you want me to re write the letter you send out to let them know about this forum?

Maybe i need to reword my addition a bit.
I think there needs to be an area where all members can have a say on selected topics.
There also needs to be an area where the Exec can work out issues without interferance from the rest of the club.
Its really up to the Exec members to decide where a topic needs to be posted.
Remeber the only people who have access at the moment are Exec members so thats why it looks like an exec forum.
Im trying to shift some of the problem solving off the Exec into the club itself so the exec can on other issues. In theory it could work but if it causes too much hassle i'll have it shut down. Maybe in 3 months we could have a disscussion to see if its working out the way i intended.

Well at the moment im telling people about the forum after they have submitted their membership form.this way i can double check if their email is correct.
It may be a good idea to let pepole know about the forum , but i would still like to restrict access to paid up members for 2006/2007 members.
