hello all.
well its been a real bad week again for the kiwis again. we had 3 days of full on snow, in morzine, coldest may in 50 years.
we headed to willigen, germany for round 3 of the uci world cup. after 11 hours driving we arrived to pissing rain and more cold miserable weather. The track was the same as last year, 2 minutes long and over 30 jumps. the weather held off and we managed to practise on a dry track. but we woke on race day to find our hotel was broken into during the night and 3 of our bikes stolen, Craig pattles, mike skinners and mine. i managed to borrow mike hanners dh bike but with not enough time to practise, it was straight into race. i managed to qualify 68th, 2:14, fighting the bike all the time. its hard enough to qualify at a world cup but much harder on a borrowed bike. my final run was better, but still not used to the bike, final time 2:10:55, 65th place. The result doesent reflect how i was riding, if only i had a few more runs on the bike.
so now i have the daunting task of finding a new bike.
talk soon
