The prison?
No thats where mum & dad live...after they murdered the rest of the family, the neighbours & my pet gecko. I live at home alone with lots of boxes of matches
... but it probably has a max of 40m vertical variation...
Stunningly accurate elevation assesment Jimmi! Max elevation is 43m, min elevation is 0m (sea level)
And I can see my house on that map!
The prison?
Yeah I was asking for that. But the correct term is "prisons" as there is both a high and medium security facility right next door to each other. Take your pick!

Wow, maximum security has gotten lax lately since they now allow internet access and all that.
What a jewel to have as recreational land. Thank goodness the city council didn't get greedy and sell it off. We'll have lots of fun up there.
Just applying for jobs and suddenly Albany seems like a great place to work!!!
You are so right. MTB tracks aside, this land also has heaps of coastline, and some very cool little beaches. Council is talking about picnic areas, playgrounds for the kids, and possibly a boatramp and Kayak facilities (its a popular route to Riverhead on the incoming tide).
The 8km coastal track from Albany to the reserve also sounds wicked.

My submission has been faxed.
Took 5 minutes to fill out. Here are some tips that might help ya:
Point 1: write SANDERS RESERVE MANAGEMENT PLAN
Point 2: These are the specific provisions from the full plan. If ya cant be esrad trawling through the full plan just put 7.1.3.
Point 3: Feel free to add what ya want, otherwise just put "FULL SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT o' SANDERS RESERVE FOR MOUNTAINBIKING USE"
Point 4: Leave empty or write the same as above. I added some parts like delete the provision for overnight camping and ensure the horses are kept seperate from MTB.
Fill out the rest and fax to the # at the top. Sweet!!!!!!
I'll find out the date for the meeting in Albany and we'll see if we can get a posse along with the Auckland MTB club
Submissions closed a while ago and the council is about to advise the public meeting date. It will be a while yet until tracks are developed and rideable although there has been a bit of fencing / general earthmoving begun in preparation for the general park area.
