Nah.
I've helped build a lot of the tracks - starting with the exit of Vic Park (single track after the Eucalypts), then the original Lava Flow (when the bottom part actually flowed) and many many many more.
I've ridden enough fall-line tracks, now I'd like to make something fun and 'full of pop'.
Brents Track is a good example... but without the lame straight line sections (people who cut out corners 'cos they can't turn).
Real berms.
Real jumps, not wooden ramps or logs pilled on the ground.

By the way I did not mean any disrespect to the great riding we have in chch or the peeps who have put in the hard work to build what we have already! Don't dis CHCH riding we are luckier than alot of other places that have no riding

That's the whole point.
There's a lot of people who want different style tracks.
But at the moment all we're getting are fall line race tracks.
I know there's some who want North Shore... but I think the hills are too good for that... if you know what I mean.
Normally all DH track building has to go through Gravity Canterbury.
Whilst I've spent a lot of time involved with the club, my calls get veto'd every time.
That's why I think we need to get the current tracks fixed up (Bridge Track is a shocker right now) and work on making one track that is suitable for all levels of bikes and riders.
I was hoping to talk to Nick re: a new section in the tree's next to the Airstrip (before you drop into the Blue Gums). It's not too steep, has plenty of ability to twist and turn and keep riders speeds down... heck it could even be linked onto Rardi Garden 1/2 way though.
From there, it needs to link up to Dazza's, then onto Brents, and then onto an improved version of Bridge Track (with a safe exit).
That can be the place to start, from there the existing tracks can be improved.
Any other thoughts?

I often ponder how great it would be to have a track through the Forest (to the right going up Dyers Pass road?) or is there one already?

That's private land... and no - they don't want people in there in case their trees burn down.
The council has been working at buying it from them for some time... but I don't see it happening for a while. Plus it would be difficult to access now that land at the bottom has been sub-divided.

Well now I'm actually a member i guess i get a say in what the club does. What about if a whole lot of us turn up at a meeting sometime and say, "Our turn to build a track please." The other option is what _jb_ said and go somewhere else?

I wouldn't mind it... but there aren't club meetings anymore.
Dunno why.
They just sorta stopped doing them.
It would be nice if we where told what was going on! A newsletter is okay - but talking person to person is a go'er.

Uh yeah.
You should find one on the website somewhere...
Me thinks running the Nationals take a little bit too much effort at times...
