I have a suspicion that we see Mokey breaking both his wrists on film about 3 minutes 10 into the clip
Can anyone confirm that? |

Yup, they taped the cross bar to the uprights.
I luv shaums super stretched one footer, One footers look naff most of the time, but not that one.
And weasel killed that bike he was using. it had cracks all over it after that event.
Oh yeah, Weasel is gonna OWN this season |

I'm wrapt that we final managed to immortalize the Tweak it's always been a favourite of mine and it's cool to see it go out to lots of new eyes.
'twas a mission though, this segment has gone twice around the world and across something like four format shifts before it gets to your computer. |

ugh
now I know what being gimp puppeted feels like.
Yep - that is Mokey breaking both his wrists, he went to hospital that night and woke up with both wrists pinned and plastered with a bone graft taken from his hip.
The riders were coming from flat run, starting at an alley way accross the road before turning in the carpark to hit the ramps. The following year they tried a car tow in that put someone in hospital.
Beavis stopped jumping after coming up short and breaking his chain. JK had to change bikes partway through after breaking a shock mount bolt (he later sold the frame to a friend of mine - very nice bike). Weasal also made the final distance jump along with JK and Shaums, but followed through so closely I couldn't pan the camera back in time or get footage from anyone else.
The music is the clean version of 'So gnikcuf Ordinary' which is a realy cool song. I would have preffered to use the 'gnikcuf' version, but wanted to get the video into shops unrated. Mailbox Skipole
There is some contributed photography/videography in this, I will have to look at Recalls full credits sometime soon... |

That is correct sir. Weasel has a bike from wally-mart, a nice orange turner. He is riding UP hills in an effort to get fit. I think we should see a good time from him at the next long gully race. And scotty, he's not just weasel, he's a hungrey weasel |

Awesome vid man, shame the quality isnt better but its all good! That high jump reminds me of a game called flat out, its a hillbilly dukes of hazzard sort of racing but you can do this thing where you drive as fast as you can up to this ramp and use the boost to eject your person over this high jump and see how high he can go |

Quite a timely replay of this fine event. Just picked up the Rotorua 2006 worlds promotion brochure and noted that they're having a "NZONE World bicycle high jump record attempt" as one of the unoffical/social events. someone forgot that NZONE is now NZO though...
I'm sure Mokey will be back in action and ready for it... and Weasels are always hungry for something, so... |

That vid was rad when it came out , I think it was the first MTBVid I ever bought.
And to see the old DHLAB Crew out there , JK Still on a ROCKY MOUNTAIN HARDTAIL and His Maxxis M1 , Shaums came over for the mount DH. ,that was an awesome time for that race , it went off all day.
would have been about the secound year that D8's were around and they were the buisness , and I think Beavis won the junior on the mount that year .
I seem to recall a great helmet cam run from that movie ,following Mokey down , and passing JK standing on the side of the track ,
Awesome movie |

It was a proto type slayer fully with thicker tubes that he was jumping. He sold it to a mate of mine, whom promptly set it up with weight wienie bling. Nice bike.
Glad you enjoyed the vid. It stopped me riding for a long long time. |

I think it is N-Zone the parachute company - rather than NZO the clothing company.
Mental note - always pick stupid sounding brands like "Vorb" which no one is going to copy. |

I know what you meen , always behind the camera , never on the trail , I have full respect for you getting that Vid out there , did you do the tape to tape edit thang , or was it some form of digital cutting? |

I would have been one of the first people in the country doing min-dv editing on a windows computer. At the time Microsoft only supported dv firewire capture in NTSC format, and I went through hell to get it all to work. These days kids just buy a pc or mac, a camera, a cable and the software just works for em. A lot of the older and additional sources was in lower res than 720x576 PAL, but as I was distributing on VHS it wasn't so much of a issue. If you look at the same footage in a full field video stream, yes, some sections are much lower fidelity that others. |

nicely done for what you had then ,
Im lucky to be of the age to have trained as a Camera Op and I know how to run an AVID editing platform ,so Its hard and easy all at once. |
