I was at a Community Focus group Meeting Last night Fundraising thing for my lil cousins school in brooklyn (the suburb not town)) and the topic was how society should manage science and technology. And one of my fears was how time saving  (miccywaves, fast food, etc etc) and time wasting (ie tv, videos, computergames, net chats, forums etc)enable a person to buffer themselves from the nasty things in society, to cocoon themselves up in a nice lil safety envelope listening to heavy metal or trance, not relly gaining any social skills and fufilling thier own lil fantasy world

That being said, I'm sitting in front of my computer typing on a forum after a night of tv (ok and drinking red wine) listening to metallica drinking fizzy at 2:30 in the morning. I feel safe in my bubble.
