Bikeparks has a riding area out there with trails/jumps/etc. Check www.bikepark.co.nz .

It's a clay base so a bit slick when wet but good in summer.

Good in the summer or after an extended dry period. Even then, the pine needles on top of hard pack clay make it pretty loose in places.

The trails are shorter than Woodhill, but generally more technical (Whitford intermediate = Woodhill advanced). The structures aren't as big as Woodhill but there's still some nice XXX and XXXXs.

It's definetely worth the drive.

You could contact Bike Parks and let them know you're keen to do some trail development.
