it's the standard way to abbreviate it... look on the, um, that, um, thing...
dictionary!

Oh I mean the shortened slang version of average, used casually. Example: 'Those brakes are pretty av/ave/avg man'

"ave" looks like it'd sound like the "ave" in "behave".
