This is a cool wee ride that is good for a quick lunch break on the way to or from somewhere like on the way home from the Queen Charlotte
Cool little loop - the attached map is the 'main loop' with a few other side tracks - no effort in climbing and probably a bit boring for DHer's but it is fast and hard pack. It is a good quick diversion from driving
Very easy to find - the track is off the main drag (the roundabout with the railroad going through it) - Maxwell Street, stay on the road which becomes Taylor Pass Rd, pass the first car park and then you come to a signpost saying MTB park -- that's us

Also very nice now it is joined to the Mt Vernon Loop Track, which climbs the range to the south of Blenheim (right behind Wither Hills) and brings you out on the east side of town.

That loop is certainly a sweet - fun bit of single track.
Ive also tried riding the whole Mt vernon loop starting as Mr C. mentioned from the east side. It is a fairly decent climb straight up the ridge to a very good lookout point.
Thats as far as we got though, almost got blown off by the N'Wester.
Next time...

My usual half an hour spare ride! FWIW the Marlborough mtb club has put a few new trails in here recently, some good fun stuff!

Can you buy a detailed map anywhere. Think I heard you could get one from the information centre.

I think you can get a map of the whole farm park, but theres no specific map of the mtb trails. There is a map board up at the mtb park carpark, but even that isn't really complete, there's been new trails put in since it went up.
They're all pretty easy to find though, since it's all out in the open up the valley.

Yeah definately. The main entrance is on Taylor pass rd, but if you go into the Wither hills farm park anywhere along the bottom of the hill, theres a 4wd track (any a wee ghetto singletrack next to the road these days) that leads round the bottom of the hills to the MTB park.
There's entrances to the farm park at the end of Weld st, Howick road (through the little park there) and across the cattle stop about 100m before the end of Redwood st.
