If Tama took it away I would sabotage the transmission of "Top Gear" to make his life living hell

I vote for keeping chat, even the current laggy version to avoid more work for El Pres.

Chat ads another social dimension that sits between the forums and the vorb gatherings.

Casual visitors to vorb (the vast majority of site visitors) can't use as you have to be registered, and only the particularly 'chatty' registered users use it, BUT it has allowed me to develop friendships beyound what forums can provide, particularily with vorbii outside of NZ, that have yet to make it to a vorb mobbing. Hence me being able to catch up in person with a few more top 50 posters that are non kiwis. Big Grin

The vast majority of visitors, never post, and come here for bike news/information/inspiration/tihss'n'giggles at vorbii. But for the rest of us, the active participators, Vorb has a social aspect for chatting/riding/gathering/mobbing that no other southern hemi mtb website can match, and is responsible for getting me out on a bike and meeting up with approx 40 out of the top 50 all time posters on this site.

I too think chat is a laugh, and that it would be nice to have it around. If only for the late night drunken rambling! (No mine of course.)

I'm up with that on two conditions:
1. There is no whining about it's lagginess
2. If it hits the server performance I get to shoot it in the head

...so, is it worthwhile for me to seek out a new replacement? Or should I just flag having Chat on Vorb all together?
