BAsed on the questions that you are asking, and how you are asking, work out what you want your shock to do "better" ie do you want it to ramp up at the bottom of the stroke, or bob less when you are pedaling hard

once you have worked that out either get your shock sent to Blue Shark in Wanaka (via your local bike shop) or send it to Rick at high speed cycles

Or buy a Marzocchi Rocco World Cup and do it yourself at home!

I agree with PBR though. Unless you know what you want from your shock, don't bother. Make sure you have the right rate spring first!

By revalving the shock you can change aspects of how the bikes ride,

ie if you have a bike that bottoms out harshly (ie the linkage doesn't ramp up) you could get the shock tuned (revalved) so that it ramps up, so that the bike doesn't bottom out as harsh

there are allsorts of aspects that you can change to a shocks performance, but unless you really know what you want don't mess with it

oh and as dhmachine said, first off make sure that you have the correct spring rate Wink

It can be done at home, but I challenge the average home mechanic to get the Roco bled properly after they've had it in bits

You would be suprised that different bikes have different "tunes" and valving, I had a few different manuals and setups for the shim stacks and piston depth with different bikes with different linkages and charectiristics.
Wish I still had it Sad

Have a wee Google search for Tim Flooks.
You'll pay more with him but it's without doubt money well spent

this is the 21st century, Not the dark ages.
You can get a parcel from the other side of the world sent in 48 hours.
You'd probably have your shock back on the bike 2 to 3 weeks.
I'd consider sending a shock to be TF tuned or sending it to be PUSHed

if you want it "pushed" you need to send it to push industries in the US

how about back to sqaure one

What issues do you have with your current shock / bike and what bike is it?

You can do a DHX at home, all you need is a vice and a few spanners.
