I have a question

If I were to swap the drive side spacer from my BB to the non drive side in effect what would that be doing to my bike (except for fixing my chain line)?

Would it change the balance or handling characteristics of the bike?

Just make sure you have enough room between the cranks and the chainstays as you pedal... apart from that you shouldn't have any issues.

I've done it before on 2 of my bikes and it's all fine. Shouldn't be any problem for you.

4-5mm will make kcuf all difference, you sure your BB width actually requires the spacer?

You still having problems with chain slap on the bottom pivot on the blur? Mine is looking pretty ugly already after 2 months despite taping which only lasts a few rides. Thinking of doing the same or converting to 2 front rings with chain guide.

Didn't think there was room to put a guide with that lower pivot either
Huh

Yea I know - was going to check it out first - the raceface one looks like it might do the job. Also asked on the mtbr forum as presumably a few there are running double chainrings with guides.

I do it with nearly every stock bike as mtbers like the lower gears and moving the chainline helps it heaps, just ensure the front derailuer moves in far enough to get the small C/ring

Should solve the problem by switching the spacer over,
So long as you have enough clearence for the small ring and derailleur adjustment.
