Rusty nails in a white picket fence. Sounds like a great blues song.

go around and punch all the anils 3mm below the wood surface - then

then fill with putty, leave to dry (for 3 days - or just use an oil based primer) - then paint as normal.
tis time consuming, but the only way. Re nailing wont work, the rust stains are already in the timber. And when applying the rust kill, make sure you cover not just the nail head, but the rust stain as well

...and I think there's a body in the back garden! Has anyone on vorb ever had to dispose of a corpse? Any suggestions appreciated. |
go to your local cemetery find a grave that has just been dug ready for the next days fuenaral
dig it out a couple feet deeper place said corpse in cover with enough soil and
let the next days fuenaral take care of the rest

These are big flathead galve nails that have had the galve rubbed off. There's about 300 of them! I can't punch them in without destroying the fence so...
PS the other problem has been taken care of, thanks for the help

unfortunately nobody will give our house a second look because of the "curse of the rusty nails".
I'm sure its not the faint smell of the old 'P' lab that puts 'em off.

Tried setting it to a twelve bar blues but it comes out all 'country and western'

For teh dead body issue. Get a polyethelene bucket/tub, and lotsa hydroflouric acid. Don't use your bathtub or any other ceramic type tubs. After that just pour it down a drain. You'll know its done when it looks like melted cherry icecream, or when it looks like slurry. Chunky bits is normal.
Ignore this im bored

OK,.....grinder with a brass wire brush fitting, run across all the heads of the nails first, then out with the sander to get rid of the rust stains from the wood.
Oil based primer. Then oil based paint for the fence. Should give you a good 2-3 months to sell the house in. If your serious about staying and they are really that bad and you cant punch the nails in, I think i'd go for splashing out on a bunch of new fence palings.

turn down the treble and select the neck pickup on the guitar.
not singing like a yodelling fairy helps too
[ not that I am implying you were either a fairy or a yodeller, not sure which is worse either
