BikeNZ is seeking an Event Coordinator to work on the 2009 NZCT Island Cup Mountain Bike Series and National Mountain Bike Championships.
The Event Coordinator must have experience in event management and demonstrated interest in sport. A passion for mountain biking a definite bonus!
Event Responsibilities
1. Attend events for their full duration (including practice days)
2. Check that all required equipment is present and verify that the REO has all aspects of race organisation complete as per guidelines
3. To act as central point of communication between all working personnel (including REO’s, First Aid, Chief Commissaire and Registration staff), riders and spectators
4. Set up event registration area
5. Coordinate event registrations and signing in formalities
6. Answer any race series & licencing queries
7. Set up and manage radio system, flags and vests for marshal and timing use including checking in and out of equipment.
8. Co-ordinate team/rider meetings and briefings in conjunction with the Chief Commissaire
9. Coordinate prizegiving in conjunction with the MC, REO and timing operators
10. Placement of banners and signage
11. Media and sponsor liaison including live radio reports, television and preparation of post event media release and result distribution
12. Take photos at event
13. Coordinate any sponsorship competitions/promotions
14. Assist event organisers where possible to ensure event runs smoothly
15. Produce a full written report on the events

Payment
The Event Coordinator will be a contract position and will be paid a total of $4500 (+ gst), with an additional budget of $1500 (+ gst) for accommodation and transport costs.
