VORB IS IN MAINTENANCE MODE You will not be able logon or make posts. We recommend you ride your bike in the meantime. [CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION]
I think that Vorb is so popular because of the freedom (femdom) that its members can exhibit.
There are certain places where the groms are rampant and where the more mature of us are ####ers but if you want to concentrate on you bike issues only then there is plenty of opportunities for that too.
The Mods are doing a great job (apart from letting too many roadies on)
Rock on Vorb you make me feel special.
There's Roadie's on this site - thank God, I thought I might be the only one ?

Maybe if brispuss had bought the moderators attention to something that rankled with him/her, it may have been dealt with.
Tama agrees with Scatter on this point and would like to address Brispuss's concerns:
Vorb is one of the busiest and most popular online communities in New Zealand, around 4,600 people visit it every day adding 1,000-2,000 new pieces of content every day. Moderation is carried out by a very small team of incredibly awesome volunteers and me - between us there is no way we can proactively moderate to the level you suggest.
As Scatter mentioned there is a button on every single post - if something irks someone click this button, tell the mods what the problem is, and they will look into it.
There is no real way for us to tell what is genuine hurtful abuse or two friends having a friendly go at each other. From our perspective we'd rather the Vorbii felt they could express themselves freely than feeling they are under the jackboot of rules and regulations.

The only problem I have with vorb is not the language, but the wierd and meaningless conversations between members who clearly know each other and join in a thread where their conservation means nothing to everyone else.
Tama agrees with RJM that this can be a problem for newer members. Think of it as turning up to a party where you hardly know anyone - at the beginning it may seem that everyone is having meaningless conversations about nothing, but as you spend longer at the party you will discover that they are having meaningless conversations about nothing - and it's kinda enjoyable to join in.
Generally mods will try to clean up a thread where genuine information is asked for and gets drowned in dross (if alerted via the afore-mentioned report button) but it is the nature of internet discussion for the conversation to go rapidly downhill a few pages in.
In conclusion - the button is your friend, please use it wisely

tune your filters a bit better brispuss, and you'll be OK. You can deselect various forums in minivorb http://www.vorb.org.nz/ac-forums.html and you should also be able to build up a list of users whose posts you rarely enjoy reading, and avoid clicking through to those threads where they made the last post. I like the profanity, but there is a filter to reverse these words should you choose.

This is by far the worst bike forum I have come across.
Vorbs about bikes?
I think the reasoned responces to your whingefest has shown vorbs not all about profanities and sausage jokes. Im sure you will find a bike forum thats right for you.
