Yeah tricky because the spring keeps springing off - I never perfected it but got them in by trying again and again. I found the original pads were easier to get back in than the Vesrah replacements, but they all go in eventually!
The idea I think was to apply even pressure to both pads as you push them in, and when one pad catches on the piston (which you should have levered back in with a plastic tyre lever) then stop and wiggle them both together, as soon as you push just one pad the spring unclips itself or f***s off across the garage floor!

assuming you're replacing worn ones, you're going to have to increase the gap between the pistons
if you have no idea what I'm talking about, take it to your lbs - quite an expensive part to destroy if you're not sure what to do

I have juicy 5s but I think they use the same pads etc so I understand your pain. Remove the whole caliper etc set up from the frame mounts. Makes it way easier if you hadn't figured that bit out already.
I downloaded the instruction manual from the Avid website. A simple google search should track it down. It's there as a PDF.
Pistons aren't that much if you screw them up. juicy 3 ones fit. got quoted about $60 (fitted) an end to replace mine. Juicy 5 and 7 ones aren't sold seperately any more apparently so they are more expensive to replace

back the pad contact dial right the way out and push the pistons back in with a big lat head screw driver when the old pads are still in.
using a workstand helps alot, they can be a little fiddly

yep, i agree with pookie_me_3.
back that dial off first. then i put my old pads back in and twisted a screwdriver between them (twist pretty hard) to push the pistons back in. worked sweet for me.

it also makes it way easier if you keep a hold of the thin nose pliers and squish the new pads together and slot them in with the pliers

They sure are pesky little b'sdrats. I always have a fight getting new pads in.
