Calendar Event: October 27, 2008
Attendees: Definite(2) - 80% Chance(1) - Total: 3 - Expected: 3 - View

Come Ride the Dusky Trail- a 44 KM mtb Race. Experience the grandeur
of the Mackenzie Country as you travel through four iconic high
country stations and take in the magnificent views of Mount Cook, Lake
Pukaki and Lake Benmore. Challenge yourself to enjoy the six river
crossings and an overall vertical climb of 500m. The ride begins and
ends at Ben Ohau Station, Twizel. It traverses the Department of
Conservation's "Dusky Trail" on the eastern flanks of the Ben Ohau
Range. Suitable for 12 years and up.

"The course was perfect with a mixture of gradual grind, the odd, not
too hard uphill and a superb downhill to give everyone a buzz at the
end- the event is fantastic for the fast guys and guls who will do
great times, and also for youngsters and the slow plodders like me who
don't want to be walking all day...2007"

The Mrs and I will be there. Should be fun crossing the rivers after the rain and decent snow melt!

It appears that way. Especially given the gravel/sealed road start to the ride. Only 6 river crossing compared to the 20+ I did on the Motatapu!
