Ok, I'm not going to make excuses or bullsh1t around the bush. "My" goal is plain and simple. Start on the front line, stay in the lead bunch and suck a few wheels while conserving energy, go with any breakaways. Attacks will be on Gebbies, any other tight climbs and Evans pass. I will be smashing the pace from Sumner to the finish line rain, hail or shine. Smile

Yep, I'll be looking for around 2 hours this year. 2:30 was last year with 2 months experience on a bike and being a short fat a$$ in my first bicycle ride lol.

Nice goals, anything around 2hrs is pretty flippin' good. Last year I was 2hrs19 but kinda held up by the bunch I was in, tried getting away but only a couple of guys were interested in going with me so I was stuck with them until Evans Pass where I managed to get away.
No time goals for this year, I just want to make it around the course and chatting to people along the way, enjoy myself and cross the finish line! This year I'm guessing I'll be somewhere between 2hrs30 - 3hrs, we will see.

Yep.

My goal is to replicate last year's performance minus the crash in Governors Bay. Recon I was doing quite well up to that point being able to eyeball Yates wheel.

The pace will be balls out up Gebbies and hitting the climb in a large group means the pace will be high. Evans is a good climb to sit at a good tempo. That's why I think the steep climbs are good to make attacks on.

I'll be at the start line, and hopefully make it to the finish line while it's still there.

Nobody I know to ride against so it's just me trying to get back in time to see the kids start the mini bays.

The hardest question on the entry form for me was how long I think I'm going to take, there wasn't an option for no bloody idea.

Yeah good luck Jim. Its pretty hard with work, baby duties, and wife support to get out to train, let alone race. Sounds like you've got your work cut out for ya!

Not sure if I'll be on the start line this year. All depends if the offer a friend has given me to borrow his roadbike comes through.
If it does, I 'll be in rec and hope to be up in the front bunch or 2, and see if I can stick with the fast guys up Gebbies. And I won't be surprised if some guys make a break early this year...

A few places to attack Mot, Gebb, Gov, Rapaki and Evans but at current fitness i can't see myself doing too much attacking. Won't be waiting around just for the sprint though Wink

I'm officially out of FOC LB's Classic. Too much work, missus is doing masters thesis, full time job & is preggy again. Basically she needs my support so I'm pulling back for a while. Might do the Crit though as it's nice & short and that will be where my strength lies.

Doesn't mean I won't stay fit and still do the occasional race though. Smile Might focus on Le Race & Main Divide as my big races as they're on the other side of Xmas which will be easier to manage.
