I just think the lazy republicans realised they needed to stop the lead, so stopped cleaning their guns and went out to vote.

Shouldn't the slogan be something like "Supressing Free Thought for Over 2,000 years"....

I don't understand polls because if they could count that quiuck on a daily basis then surely elections wouldn't take over 24 hours.
So my guess is polls are either a reflection of people who volunteer the information and the person gathering it could screen them on age etc to get a certain result. Or it's all made up?
And if people are around to do polls all the time, then they're obvviously unemployed and are going to look at whoevers doing the best thing for freeloaders.
And my biggest gripe is that surely 80-90% of the people knew who they were voting for at least a year ago, so Campaigns are useless unless they are trying to attract the large number of the public who don't care.

I think 80% to 90% is way too generous. An alarming number of people are influenced by things like which electon hoardings seen on the way to the polling booth (hence the law requiring they be removed the day before election). It's true 'cos I read it in some science thing.
I think the same science thing said that peoples votes are influenced by what colours they like.

Some people are also capable of changing their minds.

I laughed when I heard campell introduce the next and current prime minister last night.
Clever play of words that wouldvé slipped most by.
Wonder how many weeks it'll be before some cambell scandels comes out the closet to haunt him fo that little quip-but then I'm just a conspiracy theorist.

It amuses me greatly that nationals policy on benefits for those made redundant from the current economic climate was embraced by the low income budget advisors and their ilk.. they also reckoned labour had missed the mark completely, a weird day indeed.

So, tomorrow is the big day. I trust you will ALL go out and exercise your right to vote.
Looks like we will have two scenarios, based around current polls ( which I am sure are a crock of tihs)
Lab/GRN/PRO/NZF?/Maori
NAT/ACT/UF, possibly Maori.
Now, I wonder, given the current and forecasted economic environmen tand that any leading party is going to have hell of a time for a good while, which scenario is more likely to implode on itself?
My thinking is the former.

Current government survived the last term. No reason why it couldn't survive the next too. Greens won't work with NZF. But hopefully NZF won't be there anyway.
I think I'd just about prefer a National government in a Winston-free parliament than another Labour government propped up by Winston.
