Southstar will be running the shuttle, Wed evenings in Chirstchurch's Port hills, during daylight savings.

First pick-up is 4pm from the corner of Bovenvale Ave and Dalefield Drive, it's a 45 min turn around, so if you're a 9-5er aim to get there by 5.30pm. The shuttle will run until dark.

Prices:
1 uplift $10
6 uplift anytime concession card $30
100 uplift anytime concession card $200
All available from the shuttle driver (Wilfred)

If you're a trail rider then from the top you can access the Traverse Track and on down the Bowenvale track, or can you head over to Flying Nun. If you're reasonably competent try the BrakeFree jumps/rollers in the top of Vic Park and on down through the Gums and there are various options from there down (it's a bit of a maze, but you can't go to far wrong if you take it gently the first few runs).

If you're on a DH or freeride bike, take your pick of the various DH track options in Vic Park, most of which can be mixed and matched in endless combos. a map is here:

It's suggested that riders carry a phone and ride in pairs or groups so that if you have a serious accident you can call an ambulence for evacuation.

If it's raining then generally the shuttle won't operate. Wilfred will have a phone you can call for an update if it's dicey. We will get that sorted by the end of the week. The track conditions report is up on the Chirstchurch City Council website here:
http://www.ccc.govt.nz/Cycling/TracksRides/PortHills.asp

Update: As it's hosing down in chch today, we'll start this next week - hopefully it's fine!

Yep, went along last night and it was mint. Bus was full on the first run I was on, so seems they're doing pretty well. Double Thumbs Up
