Could you put an rc2x cartridge in the right leg? Since the other cartridge only works towards the bottom of the stroke it should work the same as the rc2x's X-cartridge.
That's what I'm considering doing to mine if I can.
meh heavier oil is just a band aid.
it will lead to the forks feeling harsh over big hits as the fork locks out*, sure the fork will sit higher in its travel but it will still feel like poo.
pony up and buy some heavy springs or a set of forks with a real damper in them.

Think of it this way...
Get one person to walk through a door way... and they'll make it through just fine.
Get 5 to run through at the same time... And there's gonna be a few issues and a bit of a coming together.*
*hur hur
now think of the heavier oil as bigger poeple trying to get through that whole at the same time.......
I've just ponied up for some rc2x, it's fixed all my rcv problems.
The rcv would spike(like herbman describes) really badly, on a big bump the handlebars would lunge upwards really fast and feel like poo. The rear shock (glory/dhx) would gobble the same bump up, something was wrong here.
To fix these poo issues I wound the compression nearly all the way out and then encountered brake dive and harsh bottoming out.
The rc2x, having a real damper, have a set of shims which open up on a square edged hits and suck them up. Since I can now have proper compression I'm finding the glory handles much better in corners, braking, drops, jumps and rock gardens.
Not even worth buying new springs for rcvs, just get a real fork.
