If they are alex rims then is cerainly not real tubeless. Someone could have set it up with stans or similar which should be easy to tell once you pop the tire off. From the sound of the white stuff bubbling out this sounds likely.

If you want to run non tubeless just put some tubes in otherwise you can set up almost any regular tires using the stans kit I presume your wheels must have.
