Not a huge amount in taupo in the way of downhill. Coles Killer in craters is the only downhill track we have in taupo, its kinda short but has a few decent drops etc, there is also Lazy Sunday which is a jumps track. Can't really ride it in one go as it doesn't flow but good to session maybe. Only issue is these will probably require a fair bit of walking. Also in the top of spa park hidden in the trees there is some random dirt jumps, not sure if they are still there.

I apologise if this is not great advice as I personally don't really do jumps and downhill but good luck.

Hah, me and some friends were the guys who built those jumps. But that was ages ago when I used to ride BMX. I went there the other day on my STP. They're lame now :'(

Had 7 cop cars and 2 dogs show up once when we were building them cause some old lady thought we were hiding a body. ROFL

Bike Taupo are building a new down hill with the help of the down hillers. We have done all the digger work, building up big piles of dirt and the guys are then grooming it as they want
It will run from the top of the Cork Screw track back down to towards the car park Access is by riding up the tar seal road towards craters and then duck into the old entry at the top of the hill
Its not long as we don't have the big hills but with the easy access it should be a winner

rather than climbing all the nasty hill on the road, take a ride along to spa park, down to the bottom of the hill and follow the track to huka falls, from there it's a bit of a slog up the hill, (you won't have saved any time or distance, but it's a much nicer ride)
