Im co-driving in a new car in this years Dunlop Targa. When I say new, its just getting the finishing touches on the build this weekend. Its been a bit of a rush over the last few weeks to get everything organised, but fingers crossed, we will get to give it a red-hot go this year.
Its a Series 6 Mazda RX7, with a bit of a power boost, some fancy suspension, and great big brakes.
To keep an eye on our progress, keep an eye out for car #769 here where the results will be updated fairly promptly following the completion of each stage throughout the week.
There are 134 starters, and we are ranked 114 in the seeding order, so they assume that we are going to be near the top 20.
There is a bunch of other information on the main website including stage info and spectator viewing points.
Here is a rundown of the stages for the week.
Monday October 27
Documentation, scrutineering, carshow, briefing, and 2 runs through a short 1.8km prologue stage, all at the Telstraclear events centre, in Manukau City. Its a publicity day and the results from the stage times do not count towards the Targa, so you can expect to see some tyre frying for the sponsors.
