Watching local TV here (in the states) is a mix of horror and comedy.

I saw some American tv today for the first time since I had CNN and Fox News in Wellington a couple of years ago. It was surreal - all the news stations were camped outside "Joe the plumbers" house. The USA appears to have now totally lost touch with reality. Creepy.

I watched the entire 3rd debate on tv and it certainly was an eye opener what there beliefs where and how far removed they where from what mainstream NZ believes Goverments role in society is. Their views on health where particularly scary.

I cant get over how "liberal" seems to be the highest form of critisism and how providing even the most basis social services is seen as creeping communism.

At least it seems like McCain baring a major scandal is finished. The thought of Palin as VP (or even President given McCains age and health) is something I hope the world never sees. She is the spawn of Satan himself.
