Hey, I was thinking of riding the tour in 09 but am a bit unsure about the level of racing ie: will I get smashed?
So my questions are:
I have heard that it is raced in age groups so does that mean different bunches?
Is their anyone in vorbland who has raced it (B grade type level) who might be able to advise me on whats involved?
Cheers!

Malcolm's got a great website with the last couple of years results on it. Have a look and see where you would fit in and what times they rode. http://www.starandgarterwheelers.co.nz/
Some grades race together, like M1/2 and I think in the racing they were called Race 3.

Al obviously still has the adrenalin pumping from the race tonight.

It's a good hard race. Most of the big guns treat it as training with Elite Nats two weeks later.

Stage 3 looks pretty mean.

Not really - you can give a realistic account of what the racing's like from first hand experience & from a B graders perspective in the elite race.

Kudos to you for giving it a go - more than I can say.

Yip it is, every stage seems to have something painful thrown in but it's awesome fun!
