Earlier Joel asked the distance to get to St Arnaud. If he is still wanting to know there is a 28km run into Blenheim which, apart from the climb out of Picton, isn't a bad run. He then has a 91km dash to St Arnaud - pretty flat - nice quiet road but has a limited shoulder and very few places to stop (dam vineyards !!).
I was going to do the Source to Sea this year but economics is against me. I am doing a ride from Picton to Greymouth over Xmas to make up for missing out on this S2S.
