I'm trying to sort out our stock system and it would be so much better if the item name column on the sales screen was big enough to read the whole name but it doesn't let you simply click and drag it to make it wider. See how the names of some stuff in the middle column get cut off? If anyone out there uses the same system (MYOB premier v12) and can make that column bigger I'd be stoked to know how.

Cheers

And I assume that window is non-resizeable? you could ring myob but you'd need to pay if you don't have support Sad

Yep - you'll need to pay if you don't have support. I'm helping someone else out with their computers, which includes a MYOB install, and some of the stuff it does is pretty brain dead. Especially when it comes to networking multiple computers - it's damned slow.

Nah you can't just click and drag on anything to make it bigger and I've looked through all the menus and can't see anything. I'm hoping there's a file somewhere which sets the dimensions of all the windows but I have no idea where to look.

It's a pain because they let you make the item names so long but then the only place you really need to see the item name they cut off about the last 3rd so why do they make it that long in the first place : Interrobang Hmmmm

Yeah. I put a protocol analyser on it in use, and it seems to be sending netbios updates for every single change, and getting responses, from every client on the network at once.

Apparently their fix is to say "buy the enterprise version" which runs on a server (and costs 5 grand more for the software), and uses terminal services.

Mercury Accredo is the same (in terms of the resizing columns thing)

However, there is something in the Setup menu that allows you to standardise them globally or specify for each user. Not sure if MYOB has an equivalent though Huh
