So Labour Weekend is our first anniversary (Love) and Scotty and I are thinking of catching the ferry over to Picton on Saturday and back on Monday with our MTBs only, and doing some riding over that way.

Given we haven't ridden over that way before, what's rideable/achievable in a couple of days from Picton? Where are good places to stay for the Saturday and Sunday nights? Smile

Easiest without a car is probably Queen Charlotte - all or sections. Catch a scheduled water taxi to one of the bays to start (Anakiwa, Mistletoe Bay, Torea, Punga Cove, etc depending on how much and where you want to ride) and stay at Punga Cove, Portage or one of the other lodges. Water taxi can drop your bags ahead for you.

Sweet Smile We haven't done QCW before.

Just looking at the QCW information from last year: http://www.vorb.org.nz/article-63251.html

So something like this: http://www.boatrides.co.nz/fares/fares.html (the Round Trip Track Travel Ticket) should get our stuff and us around to where we need to go? And it's just up to us as to where we want to stay each night? Eh?

You don't need to do QCW because it will be riddled with walkers, accommadation booked out and you should be doing it in November anyway.

Come riding with us - Wakamarina is kick esra good - you should do that one.

Nydia Bay is a big day 5, 6 or more hours and the more techie of the rides.

Whites Bay I haven't done but the videos I've seen on here it looks good. Search and check it out.

We could probably sort you for transport for the whole week-end. If you want to share only some of our single track gigglygoodness then Whites Bay transport is probably do-able and the others might take thinking about.

MTBRat posted else where he will be up with people and bikes. You could pm him.
