Calendar Event: October 14, 2008

WCC considers oral submissions on its draft cycling policy on Tue.

Come along and hear what cyclists want from the Council. Councillors get to ask the presenters about their submissions.

Democracy in action.

Where: WCC, 101 Wakefield St committee room 1
When: Tue 14 Oct from 9:15am
What: Cycle Aware Wellington, Great Harbour Way and individual submissions from bikers.

The draft policy needs a lot of work: e.g. it needs targets for increases in cycling. Currently it focuses on safety and convenience. Instead of planning a network of cycling routes it proposes bikers share bus lanes.
