Andre and nropo may be filthy digusting little creatures but they do know their s**t. And they ride and race bikes. Do people want a cheap mechanic or a good one? Something to ponder as you cane downhill at 80kph!
Matt at Road HQ for road bikes. Only person I would let touch my road bike.

Go to Latimer Square and find this guy called Wobbler, if you play your cards right he'll service you and your bike.
Hell you probably only need to play your cards in a pretty mediocre fashion, I heard he isn't fussy

It will be loads of fun visiting these bike shops when I get there end of the week! I noticed no one mentioned Penny Cycles. Can't wait to finally ride Bottle Lake and Bridle Path!
May I ask how much these awesome mechanics charge for assembly and tune-up? Had my mtbike dismantled (stem/headset, wheels, seatpost) for the flight.

Well, every time I have a vacation in NZ, I always use the bike of a friend who's 6'4 in height. I'm only 5'3! Have only biked the Waimak and McLean's but tramped and hunted in really nice places, including the Queen Charlotte (amazing!) This time I am bringing my good 'ol bike with me. I'm so looking forward to getting back to mtbiking again and in NZ, no less!
Cheers!
